The Official Page of the ZooomrRSS Plugin is moved to the ZooomrRSS page.
Consider this the official release of the ZooomrRSS Plugin for Wordpress. This plugin will allow you to add Zooomr images using the features of Zooomr RSS. At the moment, it’s based off of flickrRSS plugin. Another thing of note is that it allows image chaching, and all the features of the FlickrRSS plugin. The images sizes don’t really work, so are disabled, but an added width and height chooser is added. It’s currently in it’s alpha releases, and i’m still doing some beta testing to make it work. If you have any problems, please contact me.
- Download here (ZIP Format): ZooomrRSS.zip
- Download here (RAR Format): !currently unavailable!
As for the versions, there are two. The regular version uses the get_zooomrrss function while the compatibility version uses the default get_flickrrss function (for themes that have flickr built in). Both are included in the packages above.
As for those who want to know how to install, at the moment it’s the exact same as flickrRSS. You can find further instructions in the Readme file, or drop me a line by the contact page.
Update 1: Removed the download link since I had to remove the download. Coming Soon, I promise.
Update 2: Thanks to the comments, I have fixed some things to make the lists work.
Update 3: Fixed more stuff, and thanks to the wonderful work of Kristopher Tate (founder and developer of Zooomr, added options to change the image size). No more manual change of width and height.
Update 4: Fixed the RSS feed problem for the different file names in certain accounts. Basically, it should work now. Suggestions welcomed (real.techie (at) no.spam gmail (dot) com). Bumped version to 1.0, tested as much as possible. Wrong again. The cache dosn’t work, hopefully will get it to work by tonight. Also, some other problems. Don’t use this plugin. period.
Update 5: Fixed Caching, figured that the plugin can’t be used without local caching. Will write a new readme and upload as soon as possible. Moved the development news to it’s dedicated page at TechiecityOS
Update 6: Fixed Download Link. Testing in WP2.1 is limited, it does work, but cache may not.

Hi,
What are you going to do with TechieCity.net?
Thanks for commenting on my blog aswell! Keep up the good work on this theme..

probably going to turn it into my webdesigning site, not too sure really.

stabani, thanks for the plugin, been hoping someone might have plugerized zooomr. however i couldn’t get it to work. downloaded it, uploaded and activited it without any problems. visited the options page. entered my zooomr photo url, saved cahnges and placed the flickr call into my template. nothing showed up though.
i tried different parameters but got nothing, no error message, just a blan space where my flickr photos used to go. i was using flickrrss prior to this so feel somewhat knowledgeable but there’s a good chance i’m doing something wrong. maybe it’s the css styling i have for my flickr photos?
nonetheless, much love for putting the time into this.

ooops, tested it out on my personal server, not much else. New version will be up as soon as I get rid of the annoying Mate1.com Spyware crap.
July 12th, 2006 at 2:17 am (#)
no problems stabani. could be something i’m doing on my end but i’m a patient man. i’ll be watching for the update. looking forward to getting my zooomr photos on the blog.

Amos: No Idea what’s happening at that end. Are you sure you entered your userid correctly? For me it was 1151500705_8701, but depending on your login method it might be different. Also, make sure you are using this function: < ?php get_flickrrss(); ?>. Don’t pass manual parameters, use the options page alone. If not that, pass me your userid and I’ll check out things from my end.

i think i’m doing it correctly, i’m not adding any parameters and to keep it simple i’ve used the default settings on the option page, but i’m still getting an empty place where the pictures would go. i tired placing the php in various places, sidebar, bottom block, but no luck anywhere. my zooomr user id is wetslam
thanks for taking a look. appreciated.
July 13th, 2006 at 3:02 pm (#)
hmm, i guess you are right. I’m perplexed by this, but Zooomr2.0 is taking place and I’m guessing that a lot of things will probably be broken. So I’ll take a look at it after zooomr is back on.

Love the blog -I always look forward to the posts here !!
July 23rd, 2006 at 6:39 am (#)
Love that someone did this.
However, just tried using it and since I already have flickrRSS loaded, trying to activate it gave me a fatal error due to it using the same function names. I probably should have realized it would do that, but you may want to add a note saying not to try using both at the same time.
That all being said, is making the two play together somewhere on your roadmap?
July 24th, 2006 at 12:14 am (#)
yes, its actuallly not hard. I just haven’t done it yet since during testing I didnt want to mess around with having another call. If you want it, I’m more than happy to email you a zooomrrss call version.
July 24th, 2006 at 4:24 am (#)
Hi! I like your plugin. Found some errors: The height of the picture was not shown correctly. Line 102 and line 105 are using $option_width, I couldn’t find this variable in the script. You are using $width in line 26 for reading the option from the DB. I changed the names and the plugin worked in Firefox and IE.

@Michael: Thanks, don’t know what really happened there, but it “was” working on my test site. Will take a look at it and change it

Great someone wanted to do this, but Error 404 :/
August 16th, 2006 at 3:00 pm (#)
Sorry about that Craig, I plan on re-releasing it soon, but the current version just kept on breaking everything.

[...] Verdammt, eigentlich wollte ich in Ruhe ein Zooomr Plugin für die Sidebar einbauen. Aber ich habe kein brauchbares gefunden, dass ich hier auf Strato benutzen kann. Once again, your work on this is much appreciated. However, it’s still not displaying my zooomr photos. I’ll dump a bunch of info here. Maybe it’ll help, maybe not.
I downloaded the file above and put the zooomr.php file into my plugins folder, activated it, navigated to the ZooomrRSS options page, entered in my zooomr url (http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/wetslam). For the “Display” I used a variety of options (trying to see if any combination would work) and for “Before/After” I used li tags
I then put the php call (, without the space there) in between ul tags into my sidebar. Nothing showed up. I tried the example you give in your read me (, without the space) and that did display a “Zooomr not configured correctly” message in the sidebar. Other than that I can’t get it to call up the photos.
As I said before it could be something I’m doing or not seeing, but I’m keeping it simple.

@Amos: Sorry for your troubles. Check the email for a customized version till I figure it out
*EDIT* New Version (1.0) should fix that all out.`

good work! i ve ever searched for this plugin!
i ve downloaded the newest version, activated and configured ist but when i enable caching no photos will show up, there are only links to the photo pages. whats this? i ve thought you ve fixed this bug!
September 4th, 2006 at 12:43 am (#)
@killercups: Please insure you have the right paths in the options panel. Otherwise, the feature won’t work. Also, try without cache as well.

hello,
perhaps you could tell me what´s wrong with my zooomr plugin. i´m testing both plugins (zooomrrss_comp.php/zooomrrss.php). upload it, activate it, but nothing happens in my sidebar. this code i insert in my sidebar:
Zooomr
there are no error messages
and no photos.
http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/ash
thanks for helping
October 1st, 2006 at 8:52 pm (#)
@ash should do the trick. Don’t use the comp. version in this case
October 1st, 2006 at 8:52 pm (#)
Ups, i´m a idiot!
i typed in the options menu
user id: http://beta.zooomer.com/photos/ash
great plugin

[...] I’ve also decided that I’m going to put all of my ‘photography’ pictures there too, so from now on everything I take that I think is decent, or would perhaps want to share, will be found there. Perhaps you want to bookmark that site if you haven’t already. When I switched themes and decided to go all-out Zooomr, I also installed the Zoomr Plugin for Wordpress and you can see the 20 latest images on my Zooomr page. Pay no attention to the label that says Flickr… The Zooomr plugin is just a hack of a Flickr one, and it looks like I’ll need to figure out how to get rid of that on my own. [...]

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone could help. I did something stupid and started my blog using a numerical archive system, and now I'd like to change it so that the post title is part of the URL for SEO reasons. Is there any Wordpress plugins that anyone knows of that could switch it without sending Googlers to invalid pages? Maybe some sort of redirector to the correct page?
Thanks.

Hi, firstly great plugin I have found it very useful. I use the version which replaces the flickr one and uses its CSS etc, but I have come into one issue. Mainly that the feed for the photos still brings up the flickr rss. Anyway you can do it so it brings the Zooomr one. I use this account more as I have pro4life status on it.
January 3rd, 2007 at 4:44 pm (#)
ooops, sorry about that. forgot to change it on my own site as well. Expect a new (and fixed version) soon, though i make no promises.

I managed to do something earlier while updating WordPress and plugins, I think it’s my error completely. I ended up reinstalling your plugin, which was working superbly before, but now it doesn’t seem to be working.
I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_zooomrrss() in /home/electr/public_html/phil/wp-content/plugins/zooomrRSS/zooomrrss_comp.php on line 135
any ideas why?

Hi,
I tried to download the page but the server times out. Same for the new perma page for the plugin on your alternate site.. Any idea when that server will be up?
January 21st, 2007 at 10:00 am (#)
I’m also having trouble connecting to the techiecity.net server. I tried from Singapore, Indiana and Alberta and none of them found the server. Are you hosting the plugin anywhere else?
Thanks!

I’m looking for a plugin similar to “Crossroad” plugin, to can put individual Zooomr images in my posts.
So, if you can do it, you’ll make me happy
